Optimize Your Skatenet Shopping Experience: (Optional for computers running Windows 98 + and Mac OS 9 +)

To optimize your Skatenet shopping experience please follow these simple steps:

Check to make sure your Active X and Scripting features are turned on:
1. Click the "Start" button located in the lower left hand corner of your screen to open the "Programs Tray".
- Depending on which version of windows you are running you will look for an icon called "Settings" or "Control Panel".
- If you see the "Control Panel" icon then move to step #2.
- If you see the "Settings" icon you need to click it to display the "Control Panel" icon then move to step #2.
2. Click the "Control Panel" icon located inside the programs tray to open the "Control Panel" menu.
3. Double click the "Internet Options" icon located inside the "Control Panel" menu to open the "Internet Properties" window.

4. Select the second tab "Security" and make sure the default selection of "Internet" is displayed under the heading "Select a Web content zone to specify its security settings.
5. Click the "Custom Level" button located bottom center of the window to open the "Security Settings" window.
6. Once in the "Security Settings" window you will find a heading located at the top of the window called "Active X Controls and Plug-ins" with 5 sub-menus underneath. For the following sub-headings make sure these options are selected:
- "Download signed Active X Controls" = Prompt
- "Download unsigned Active X Controls" = Disable
- "Initialize and script Active X controls not marked as safe" = Disable
- "Run Active X controls and plug-ins" = Enable
- "Script Active X controls marked safe for scripting" = Enable
7. After checking the Active X options you need to scroll down the window 3/4 of the way until you find a heading called "Scripting" with 3 sub-menus underneath. For the following sub-headins make sure these options are selected:
- "Active scripting" = Enable
- "Allow paste operations via script" = Enable
- "Scripting of Java applets" = Enable
8. Click the "Ok" button to close the "Securities" window.
9. Click the "Apply" button and then the "Ok" button to close the "Internet Properties" window.
10. Click the "X" box in the upper right hand corner to close the "Control Panel" menu.


Check to make sure you have the latest Java Plug-ins installed:
1. Click the "Start" button located in the lower left hand corner of your screen to open the "Programs Tray".
- Depending on which version of windows you are running you will look for an icon called "Settings" or "Control Panel".
- If you see the "Control Panel" icon then move to step #2.
- If you see the "Settings" icon you need to click it to display the "Control Panel" icon then move to step #2.
2. Click the "Control Panel" icon located inside the programs tray to open the "Control Panel" menu.
3. Double click the "Java Plug-in " icon located inside the "Control Panel" menu to open the "Java Plug-in Control Panel" window.

4. Click the "Browser" tab located 3rd from the left to open the "Browser Settings" window. Under this window will be 2 options that can be selected. For the following options make sure they both have check marks next to them.
- Microsoft Internet Exploerer = Checked On
- Netscape 6 = Checked On
5. If you had to click on the "Check Box" to turn one of these options on you will now need to click on the "Apply" button before moving to the next step.
6. Next click on the "Update" tab located 2nd from the right to open the "Update" window.
7. Click the "Get Java Update" button and follow all of the prompted instructions given by the website.
8. Click the "X" box in the upper right hand corner to close the "Java Plug-in Control Panel" window.
9. Click the "X" box in the upper right hand corner to close the "Control Panel" menu.
